TikTok and Snapchat will pay out millions of dollars in class-action privacy claims.

In Illinois, both social media platforms have been charged with violating the state's Biometric Information Privacy Act.

TikTok agreed to pay $92 million and Snapchat agreed to $35 million to settle allegations that the company

illegally acquired and shared users' biometric information and privacy data.

But the settlement illegally is currently awaiting approval from a district court.

Those who lived in Illinois and used Snapchat lenses or filters between November 2015 and currently may be eligible for compensation if approved.

By November 5, settlement claims must be submitted.

The main this is the TikTok settlement comes with a nationwide class and an Illinois class, citizens of Illinois who used the app within the state before September 30, 2021.
